“Hollyweed” didn’t hurt anyone, there is not lasting damage to the sign, all that needs to be done to reverse the prank is to take down four signs. After that, it’s like it never even happened.
Brock Turner, on the other hand, violently assaulted and violated an unconcious woman. That trauma will be with her, possibly for the rest of her life. There is no reversing that. It can never be undone. It will never be as if it never happened.
I guess landmarks are just more important than women’s bodies.
